About this car
This 1982 300D is offered on eBay by beverlyhillscarclub in Los Angeles, CA. The asking price is $14,950. The car is finished in Marine Blue over Dark Blue, a manual gearbox, power from a 3.0L Diesel I5 engine. The listing does not state a mileage. On a W123, the vacuum system, glow plugs on the diesels, and rust in the jacking points and rear wheel arches are the usual places to look first.
What the photos show
- Blue paint is bright and glossy in these shots, no repaint bill in view.
- Chrome grille, bumpers and window trim look bright, no rechroming cost from what shows.
- Blue seats front and rear look excellent and unmarked, no need to reupholster.
- Dash looks smooth and the wood trim is glossy, no dash or wood bill expected.
- Blue door panels are clean but puffy and wrinkled, trim you can live with rather than a repair bill.
- Trunk floor and spare wheel well look clean and rust-free in these shots, no trunk repair cost in view.
- Bundt wheels are clean and the tires look fresh with deep tread, no immediate tire spend in view.
- Diesel engine bay is clean and complete, shown from several angles, with no detailing bill beyond routine sorting in view.
- No underside photos were in the sampled set, so I can't judge underside rust or leaks.
Money: At $14,950 the glossy blue paint, excellent blue interior and clean diesel bay support the price, with only the unseen underside left to verify.
