About this car
This 1986 300E is offered on eBay by vegasking11 in Las Vegas, NV. The asking price is $9,750. The car is finished in Red over Tan, a manual gearbox, power from a 3.0L Gas I6 engine. The odometer shows 277,180 miles. On a W124, check the wiring harness insulation on cars of this age and look for rust in the jacking points and front wings.
What the photos show
- bright red paint is glossy and even all round with no rust or peeling seen, so no paint money on what is shown
- the only body flaw spotted is a small dent in the panel under the right taillight, a cheap paintless fix
- photos show three pedals and a manual gear lever, so this is a stick-shift car, not an automatic
- tan leather front and rear seats look excellent with only light creasing, so no reupholster money
- door cards, carpets and wood trim all look clean and intact, so the interior needs nothing major
- the dash and gauges look clean, and an aftermarket stereo and trunk subwoofer are fitted, which only matters if you want it stock
- the underside photo shows solid black floors with no holes seen, so no floor money is visible
- the trunk and spare wheel well look clean with the spare and jack present, so no trunk rust work shows
- no engine bay photo in the set, so the engine's condition can't be judged from photos
Money: at $9,750 the photos show a clean, rust-free manual 300E needing almost nothing cosmetically; the price is fair if the unseen engine checks out in person.
