About this car
This 1951 220A is offered on eBay by uniqueautoltd in Escondido, CA. The asking price is $57,500. The car is finished in Burgundy over Burgundy, a manual gearbox. The odometer shows 61,162 miles. On a car of this age, the condition of the wood, chrome and mechanical parts matters more than the odometer reading, and a car that has been stored will need recommissioning.
What the photos show
- the two-tone burgundy and black paint is deep gloss on every panel, a finished restoration look with no paint money on sight
- chrome is mirror bright across the grille, bumpers and hubcaps with wide whitewalls, no rechrome bill visible
- the cream soft top is up, taut and clean with a clear rear window, no top spend needed
- the red leather shows honest creasing and patina rather than damage, presentable without a retrim
- the wood dash is glossy and the gauges and wheel look restored and complete, no trim hunt needed
- no engine bay photo in the sampled set, so I can't judge the motor's presentation
- no underside photo in the sampled set, so I can't judge the chassis from below
Money: at $57,500 the finished paint, chrome, top and cabin in these photos support the ask for a restored cabriolet — the unseen bay and underside are the only parts of the money left unverified.
