1950 Mercedes-Benz 170S

• two-tone cream and black paint is presentable but dull and aged, with wear at the panel edges, so a repaint is a choice cost rather than an emergency
• the grille shell and mesh are heavily rusted brown all over, so grille restoration or replacement is a certain and prominent cost
• front and rear bumpers are rust-streaked and pitted, so re-chroming money is due
• the black top is intact and fits well but its rear window is cloudy, so allow for a window or top refresh rather than a full top
• black leather seats look supple and largely unmarked, so a clean and feed may save a retrim
• the dash wood is pale and worn and the driver's door jamb shows rust and loose wiring, so interior and electrical sorting money is due
• the engine bay is dirty with rusty bolts, corroded fittings and old wiring throughout, so budget for a full recommission before trusting it on the road
• no underside photo is shown in the sampled photos, so the chassis and floors can't be judged from the photos

Money: at $67,500 the body and seats present well for an original car, but the rusted-out grille, tired chrome and crusty engine bay are visible bills the price does not seem to leave room for.
