About this car
Hemmings listing in Astoria, NY. 230N Cabriolet.
What the photos show
- the whole body is covered in surface rust and dead, peeling paint — this is a full strip and repaint, the biggest single bill on the car
- the convertible top frame is collapsed with no canvas left on it, a complete new top and frame work to budget
- the red leather seats are surprisingly intact and may clean up, the one area that might escape a full retrim
- the wooden dash and its gauges are still in place but rough and weathered, a specialist restoration job
- the engine is present and looks complete under the dust, but nothing in the photos says it turns, so price it as a core
- chrome is dull and rust-spotted across the bumpers and grille shell, a full rechrome bill
- no underside photo in the gallery, so I can't judge how far the rust goes under the car — on this one that is the whole question
Money: at $59,500 you are buying a complete-looking pre-war project, not a car — the photos show restoration money several times the ask still to spend, and the unseen underside decides whether it is viable at all.
