1981 Mercedes-Benz 380SEC

• Title/photo mismatch: the title says 380SEC coupe, but every photo shows a dark blue R107 SL convertible with its soft top up — do not pay SEC money until the seller proves which car is actually for sale.
• Dark blue paint on the SL in the photos is glossy and straight — no repaint bill showing on that car.
• Chrome grille, bumpers and Bundt wheels on the SL look clean, and tyres show good tread — no immediate chrome or tyre bill on that car.
• Blue soft top is up, taut and intact with a clear rear window in the side views — no new top bill visible.
• Tan seats are clean and unripped with only light wear — no need to reupholster on the car photographed.
• Dash, wood and centre console look tidy, with an aftermarket Blaupunkt radio fitted — no dash bill, but originality money is already spent there.
• Engine bay is complete but aged, with yellowed coolant and washer tanks — budget a service and detail, not just a wash.
• Carpets and floor mats are dirty in the cabin shots — budget a deep clean.
• Can't judge the underside — no underside photos in the sampled gallery, so rust underneath is unproven.

Money: At $21,500 you cannot judge value until the mismatch is fixed — the photos support that money for a tidy SL, not for the 380SEC in the title, so confirm the actual car and VIN first.
