About this car
Hemmings listing in Astoria, NY — a 1983 S-Class offered through Hemmings classifieds. The harvest captured no condition description for this car, so judge it from the full photo gallery on its Hemmings page and verify specification, condition, and history with the seller before travelling.
What the photos show
- Photos show a grey 500SEC coupe, badged 500 SEC at the rear, not a sedan — no extra cost, but check the title matches the coupe in the photos.
- Grey paint is glossy and even on both sides, front and rear — no repaint bill showing in these photos.
- Chrome bumpers and grille are bright and straight — no rechrome money needed on what is shown.
- Cream leather seats are intact with light creasing only — no need to reupholster.
- Dash and burl wood look clean and uncracked in the cabin shot — no dash or wood bill visible.
- Steering wheel rim is worn and carpets are dirty — budget a deep clean and a wheel retrim if you want it sharp.
- Engine bay is dusty but complete with the air cleaner and covers in place — budget a detail, not a rebuild, from what is shown.
- Bundt wheels are clean and tyres have visible tread — no immediate wheel or tyre bill shown.
- Can't judge the underside — no underside photos in the gallery, so rust underneath is unproven and needs a lift check before paying.
Money: At $21,500 the tidy paint, chrome and leather support the ask, but the dirty carpets, worn wheel and unseen underside mean you should not pay full price without a lift inspection.
