1985 Mercedes-Benz 380SEC

• Title/photo mismatch: the listing is titled as a 380SEC coupe, but every photo shows a red SL roadster and the trunk badge reads 380 SL — verify which car is actually for sale before spending anything.
• Red paint on the car in the photos is glossy and deep, and the panels look straight — no paint budget from these photos.
• Chrome bumpers, mirrors and window trim look bright and clean — no re-chrome money needed.
• Matching red hardtop is shown fitted and glossy, and the black soft top looks taut and clean — no top budget from these photos.
• Tan leather seats look smooth and barely worn, and the tan carpets look clean — no reupholstery money needed.
• Dash is only glimpsed through the windshield and looks intact — no dash budget from these photos, but it is not shown up close.
• Trunk is open in one photo and looks clean and carpeted — no trunk money needed.
• The exhaust outlet under the rear bumper looks rusty — budget small money for exhaust work and a check underneath.
• Bundt wheels look clean and tires show tread — no wheel or tire budget from these photos.
• No engine bay photos in the sample — can't judge the engine bay, hold back money for that inspection.
• No underside photos in the sample — can't judge the underside, hold back money for that inspection.

Money: At $17,900 the car in the photos looks like a clean, well-kept SL, but the title says 380SEC coupe — do not price or pay anything until the seller confirms which car this money actually buys.
