About this car
This College Station 250S is a project with a solid body, a strong engine, and a good interior. The seller has simply run out of time to finish it. On cars with twin Zenith carburetors, the state of the carburetors decides much of the value, so a cold start tells you most of what you need to know. At $3,999 it is an inexpensive way in, if the bodywork is as solid as the seller claims.
What the photos show
- Only one photo is available for this listing — a front three-quarter of the white sedan on a suburban driveway — so most of the car can't be judged from photos at all.
- The white paint looks bright and glossy across the hood and fenders, the chrome grille, bumper and hubcaps are clean, and the car sits level — a far tidier presentation than the project description in the listing text suggests.
- That contrast is the point to check in person: either the photo flatters the car or the project needs are mechanical and hidden — the photo alone can't say which.
- No interior, engine bay, trunk or underside photos are available — the cabin, the carburetted six and the floors and sills all stay unjudged until more photos or an in-person look.
Money: $3,999 for a 250S that looks this tidy in its one photo is either a bargain or a warning — the inspection has to reconcile the glossy driveway shot with the seller's own project wording.
