What the photos show
- black paint is deep and glossy on every panel, no repaint needed
- chrome grille, bumpers and black hubcaps shine bright, no chrome bill
- black soft top sits taut and clean when raised, no new top to buy
- tan boot cover matches the cabin trim and fits neatly, no trim spend there
- burl wood dash and tan trim look rich and uncracked in close-up, no dash work needed
- seats are only glimpsed through the glass in these photos, so can't judge wear or retrim cost up close
- trunk is clean and dry with the spare strapped in, no tidying money needed
- engine bay is not shown in the sampled photos, so can't judge its condition or sorting cost
- underside floors look aged and grimy rather than freshly coated, solid in the photos but budget a clean and inspection
- paperwork photos show the embossed original owner plate, a 1971 antenna card and a stack of service invoices, history that adds value for free
Money: no sale price is recorded here, but the glossy black paint, taut top and deep paperwork file support strong 3.5 cabriolet money, with the engine bay unseen and the underside honestly aged.

This 280SE has been in my family for over 30 years, and has been a pleasure to use over the years. It has the 3.5L V8 which is both torquey and smooth. A significant upgrade
