What the photos show
- Black paint looks deep and glossy all round, no repaint needed.
- Chrome bumpers and grille look bright and straight, no rechrome bill showing.
- Black soft top is shown raised and looks taut and clean, no new top needed on what is visible.
- Black leather seats look clean and supple front and rear, no need to reupholster.
- Dash wood looks rich in the cabin view and the wheel looks clean, no dash bill showing.
- Engine bay looks tidy with a clean black air cleaner, no detailing bill needed.
- Can't judge the underside — no underside photos in this gallery, so budget an inspection before valuing it.
Money: No sale price is listed in the data, but the photos show a strong cabriolet — glossy black paint, clean black leather and a tidy engine bay support real 3.5 money, with no big visible spend.

Condition: 1971 Mercedes 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet 99,000 documented miles Clean history Sadly it’s time to move on from a family heirloom car. This 280SE has been in my family for over 30 years, and has been a pleasure to use over the years. It has the 3.5L V8 which is both torquey and smooth. A significant upgrade
